Chikaina Piggeries is destined to become one of the Northern Cape’s prime pig breeding farms to have emerged from the town of Phillipstown. Our pig farming enterprise is propelling us to ultimately bring the bacon home in large chunks by being a future participant in the pork value-chain. Breeding on our farm is twofold. We rearing our pigs to provide the markets with the very best carcasses. On the other hand; we nurturing experience and expertise to ultimately position ourselves as stud-breeders of choice. Chikaina Piggeries was founded in 2009 and situated on 80ha prime land adjacent to the R56 en route to De Aar. Our piggery has grown in leaps and bounds. We shelter over 25 Large White sows, good number of Duroc and Landrace boars and piglets to the highest animal welfare requirements.
Our main objective as Chikaina Piggeries is to run a sustainable and profitable piggery business hence we will soon occupy our newly build offices. Trust in us as a starting point in pig farming that upholds and ensures you enjoy quality pork from farm to the consumer’s fork.
We committed to a future of establishing ourselves as stud-breeders and that of commercial pig farming as an injection from our current medium-size enterprise. This in an endeavour to assure the markets of the best genetic material from our breeding farm.
